The world's first urban eye-protection digital atlas, the Guangzhou eye-care map, was officially launched on June 6 at a themed promotional event held by Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center (ZOC) of Sun Yat-sen University and the Guangzhou Organizing Committee for the 15th National Games.

Lin Haotian, Director and President of ZOC, explained that the map analyzes remote sensing surveying and mapping data along with street view images. By integrating environmental parameters such as green visibility rate and visible distance, it provides citizens with real-time updated eye-protection indices and healthy travel routes.

Citizens can access eye-care travel suggestions featuring open vistas, lush greenery, and fresh air through a mini-program, integrating eye health into their daily lives. This map not only offers scientific travel guidance for citizens but also provides quantifiable evaluation criteria and decision-making support for the government and urban planning departments, enabling truly "eye-friendly" urban designs.

During the event, ZOC also officially unveiled its smart eye mobile hospital. Li Tao, Deputy Director of ZOC, introduced that this mobile hospital is the world's first integrated mobile platform encompassing "prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment."

It is supported by a smart IoT system featuring "three-end collaboration" among mobile devices, vehicle-mounted terminals, and doctor terminals. It also offers 24-hour full-cycle health management services through digital doctors.

The second-generation Smart Eye Mobile Hospital has undergone significant upgrades in both hardware and software. It has added treatment functions such as anterior segment laser treatment, fundus laser treatment, and dry eye treatment, enabling one-stop solutions for common eye diseases.

Meanwhile, it has developed the Dr.Lighting digital doctor intelligent agent to provide patients with a full-chain health management service covering appointment booking, examinations, treatment, and follow-ups.

In the future, the Smart Eye Mobile Hospital is expected to achieve unmanned or remote operation, enabling more people in remote areas to access high-quality ophthalmic medical services.

The official unveiling of the China Urban Eye Health Index, showcasing Guangdong's experience, also took place.

This index comprehensively evaluates the eye health guarantee systems of 21 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong across four dimensions: climatic environment, social architecture, medical services, and eye disease prevention and treatment.

According to the composite scores of the index, a total of seven cities have achieved an excellent level. Among them, Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Zhaoqing, Heyuan, and Shantou have been rated as excellent cities for two consecutive years. Meanwhile, Guangzhou has topped the list for two consecutive years.
